Religion Needs To Become Obsolete!!!!
We don't need religion to observe the golden rule of doing unto others as we would for ourselves.
Humans are allowed to evolve and make systems obsolete when they see the system causes more harm than good.
Religion causes more harm than good because it gives humans the idea that the same being who created all, would select a few humans to live better than the rest and that's problematic. Especially for a God that claims to be all loving.
Religion is no longer a functional framework for morality and I believe we as humans, don't need religion to observe the human law of “doing unto others as you would yourself”.
Our society can choose to create laws that regulate this to create a better society than leaving laws to religion which is conceptualised from one human’s claim of hearing from God.
I will be using the two main religions in the world, Christianity and Islam as examples to buttress my point.
With Islam, the science and technology that the time of Prophet Muhammad didn't have, has discovered that although the female body can be functional for reproduction at the age of 11, it is psychologically and physiologically detrimental for the female body to reproduce before the age of 20. But even with this information, girls as little as 8 are still denied their childhood and teenage years and forced to be sexual properties of men 3-10 times their age in the name of religion.
It is now obvious there that men are only using this God to justify intentionally hurting another human for their depraved and selfish desires.
A society that claims to hate evil and want good can come together to make that religion obsolete. Because if your God who claims he created all, is fine with you harming another human being that he also created with the same consciousness and sentience to feel pain as you for his purpose, then he is a cruel God.
With Christianity, there is a belief of paradise after death that makes most Christians complicit to evil by their docility. This perpetuates evil because they hold on to the idea of a God giving humans life to live then telling us this life will only be a short transition of suffering to prove our love for them so we can enjoy eternal bliss. This is problematic.
Christians also believe the limitless bounds of human nature that is capable of doing as much good as evil, is controlled by angels and demons they can ask to be with them and cast out respectively.
All these make Christians docile to evil because they then feel they do not have to spend their short lives fighting physical evils when it is written in the Bible that a great evil who was also created by the same all knowing God, is the cause of their suffering and so, evil will be rampant on earth till Jesus comes to take away all evil and grant them eternal bliss. So even though they mostly don't participate in evil, they don't fight it. They rather pray it away and watch themselves be killed off by evil as it is a sign of persecution which is a blessing in the kingdom of God.
A society can make such a religion obsolete and teach people that their evils are caused by humans who have created this idea to keep them docile to evil instead of fighting it. Because you can as well make the world a better place while waiting for the rapture.
In conclusion,
Religion is problematic. Serving a God who created laws without taking into consideration the evolution of humans as time progresses, is stagnating and it shows how all religions are really man-made doctrines, filled with half-truths to foster the conformity of humans for the selfish desires of a few.
A society that establishes laws bound by doing to others as you would yourself, would sanction and jail people who perpetuate hurt to other humans in the name of God and rehabilitate the society by making sure the people who hold this mindset are rounded up, educated and obliterated if need be, so future generations are not indoctrinated with the same mindset and continuing the vicious cycle.
A society that makes sure anyone who hurts someone for their selfish desires, are also hurt in turn, is better than one who expects the creator of all life (God), to select some humans to tell their intentions and give to the rest when we have seen time without number how; imperfect humans are and how they lie for their selfish desires.
